Utility Land Management
F&W has extensive experience serving utility clients for over 30 years, working on a variety of vegetation-related projects on thousands of utility-owned acres and hundreds of utility Right-of-way (ROW) miles. Our foresters have prepared and implemented numerous forest management plans for public and private utilities that have improved forest health, created diverse habitat, and generated revenue through timber sales. Forestry-related vegetation management work can also be important along overhead and underground electric utility lines, telecommunications facilities, and other utility lines such as sanitary sewers. A successful utility vegetation management program is important for ensuring utility service reliability and public safety. F&W services include assistance with vegetation management along utility ROWs, dams, dikes and other utility infrastructure, identification of vegetation removal constraints, maintenance recommendations, and oversight of vegetation removal operations. All F&W services are conducted by a staff of well-educated, experienced, and certified forestry professionals, with the goal of assisting clients in reducing costs and improving the safety and reliability of their critical infrastructure systems. Our work includes use of GIS and GPS mapping to identify trouble spots and sensitivite areas. We take pride in our ability to effectively convey data in a clear, concise fashion that can be understood by decision makers in the office and in the field. F&W is committed to providing local, fast-response services during both planning/preventative maintenance and emergency response situations. |
