Timber Sales
As a primary component of our company, F&W's foresters have been assisting property owners with timber sales for nearly 30 years. Timber sales can provide income while improving forest health, promoting regeneration of desirable tree species, and meeting other landowner goals, which could include wildlife habitat enhancement or the development of recreational opportunities. During the course of a timber sale F&W foresters act as the landowner’s agent. Our foresters:
We work on an hourly basis, not on a commission or percentage or revenue. We work this way so that our compensation is independent of the timber sold, which removes any incentive to mark for removal more or different trees than should be marked to meet the landowner's goals. We want to help you achieve your goals and to do what is best for the forest, which is why we choose to separate our compensation from the value of the wood removed. F&W foresters are Connecticut certified, and our staff also includes a Massachusetts licensed forester and a USDA-NRCS Technical Service Provider.
